Hi Dan @Dannomiss89
It’s an incredible work of art and indeed something to be proud of. A very thoughtful gift as well.

Thank you so much Terri @robichon. Really appreciate words and encouragement. I just hope and pray she likes it now Sure she will. I have to say I am really pleased with the final result and came out better than I thought it would
Dan @Dannomiss89,
If they were not to like it, which I know they will love it, then you could always send it my way haha. It’s beautiful.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Sonia @Meme5
Since I know how well you multi-task, I just hope “driving” was not included on the list of tasks when you drew this
Terri Robichon
Terri @robichon,
I need to add driving, and sense of direction/map reading to the list where the measuring and composition are. But I appreciate your confidence in me. If it wasn’t for Siri, which she takes me in circles frequently, I wouldn’t make it to non frequent destinations. Haha
Otherwise my husband takes care of the driving, while I attempt to draw.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Hugs and smooches to Anne 🩷

I’m finally done with the portrait. Although I love drawing portraits that was really difficult. Not totally unhappy. The shadows are too harsh but I couldn’t really fix this anymore. Will take a mental note for next time though. The hair was a challenge because it’s so curly. A pity that the video doesn’t show the full process…
I’m working on an 8x10 ink painting now. This is how far I got after 3 days. That patterned shirt is quite the challenge.
Terri Robichon
Dear Terri @robichon,
So beautiful and special. Honestly I think the ink, patterned shirt, and corduroy shirts are all quite the challenge for me. Haha; however challenging for you It’s looking quite amazing.
How do you work the ink? With brushes? Never have I ever tried inks.
Sonia Alonzo
If you know me, you know I have a thing for eyes. So here’s a little study for a bigger piece I plan to make soon. Yes my favorite soft pastels and pastel pencils.
Hi Sonia @Meme5
Yup, I’m using brushes. Now here’s the part you won’t like. It’s a lot like using watercolors. There are pro’s and con’s however between colored inks versus watercolors. Most notably, watercolors on a pallet or on the painting can be reactivated. Not so with inks. If they dry up in the pallet you need to mix again.
One thing I like about inks is you can keep adding layers, and because the original layers are permanent, they will never reactivate and get muddy. This is great because you can add shadows later in the process with inks, but usually have to put your shadows in place with watercolors early in the process.
If you want to know more, just ask.

Hi @jmld616
The colors and textures are outstanding. Thanks for sharing.
It would be interesting if you would send this in to Matt for the members minute since your style and materials are so different from what the rest of us are doing.

Terri 1r,
I love the even distribution of pigment and saturation. I might give inks a try sooner than later. Maybe not on anything other than a small study at a time. Thank you for answering! Also what paper did you use?
Sonia
I find it mesmerizing. So original. Thank you for sharing and second Terri with sending it to members minute.

Hi Sonia @Meme5
The paper for the ink painting of Santa is 300 lb hot press watercolor paper. I can’t remember if it’s Arches or Canson.
Terri
My son’s eye on my sketchbook while traveling to drop him off to fly back to school. I will re draw it on good paper next to my husband’s and my eye
Hi Sonia @Meme5
It’s really something how good you are at drawing eyes. Hope your thanksgiving was perfect in every way.
Terri Robichon
Patricia, don’t know why you wouldn’t want to show that? That’s a very nice job, thanks for posting it. Ron
