… so I had a go at the Live Lesson jellyfish , I hope you like it. I’m presently sight limited in one eye owing to a retinal tear , which , if anyone has had one will understand , also causes visual disturbances called ‘floaters’ … one of mine is reminiscent of this subject haha

Hi Trevor @trevowen

I didn’t draw this myself, but I definitely remember the lesson. Well done. Thanks for sharing.

Hi thanks and again for your kind comments about my earlier posts , it’s very encouraging to feel I’m doing OK. Saw you comment in the Live Lesson chat last night but it was 0100 here and not sure if I can do late ones these days - age ! Not sure about oils and painting will stretch me having been a ‘drawer’ - (thinking how Matt might pronounce that !) Sketched onto canvas board with Ashley but would have to take my time out of my comfort zone.

Wow! Your drawing of her hands on the clay pot looks photo realistic! It’s quite amazing and very beautifully done!

I’m new to the forum and fairly new to oil painting, my preferred medium so far, but still experimenting some when time. I’ve been oil painting on and off for about 6 years now and trying to get better at drawing.

I look forward to learning more now from others critiques too, which I was too afraid of before.

Thanks Judy @missk1tty for the kind words. It’s nice to have you here on the forum.

I don’t know if you noticed that a new LIVE LESSON / LIVE CLASS series just started this last Wednesday. Ashley is teaching us to use water-mixable oil paints to create an 8x10 landscape. You can watch these when they are live, and participate in the “chat”, or watch the recorded version when it better fits your schedule. You might really like this one.

Anyway, welcome to our friendly and supportive group. Chime in with questions or comments. And by all means, post some of your art here for us all to enjoy.

Hi Trevor @trevowen -

Yes, colored pencils do require more time, and the more layers you add, the better it will look. The paper you use for colored pencil drawings also makes a huge difference.

This is a good start for a media you are learning. Thanks for sharing.

Hi @jmld616

Yes, the link Sonia posted is what you need.

Otherwise, if you want to know how to find it yourself, go to the top menu tab for COMMUNITY. Hit the down arrow to see your options are Forums or Critique. Select Critique.

At the very top you will see The Member’s Minute, and under that . . . click on the orange square that says submit your art.

Then just scroll down and follow the instructions. NOTE: the file size must be less than 2MB and the file type can be .jpg or .png

I suggest that you watch episode 500 because Matt starts by talking about steps of making your artwork look better before submitting them.

Hope this additional information is useful.
