Finally got around to drawing the graphite landscape from last year’s TVI live sessions. I did mine on a slightly tone paper and used white charcoal to get the whites. Also changed the portion to the of the tree a touch. Overall happy with one.
I’m working on my third lesson on the “Carl the Shop Guy”. I’m working on it during my lunchtime (3 lunch breaks total so far) . I had only my 9x12 toned gray sketch book so it’s on toned gray paper with black and white charcoal pencils. I had been so scared to try it because it seemed so complicated….well it is! But I am challenging myself because I’m no Ashley!
This is one of my all time favorite lessons. I guess because it reminds me of my dad when he out in the garage. I think of it as his happy place. I too was feeling overwhelmed by the details. But by just taking your time, finishing one space and moving on, it magically comes together. You are doing great. Keep going.
Sonia @Meme5 This is the one after it was completed I said to myself “self I think we can do this drawing thing”. It gave me the confidence.

You are farther ahead down the confidence lane than I am. I looked for a Carl drawing thread and saw several very well done, I can’t remember whose drawings they were. Did you post yours?
It’s been months since I saw that Carl Shop Guy lesson series. Finally doing it, Carl will slowly get the rest of his focused self drawn in, although I’m a little nervous about the work bench full of tools
