Raven - getting sketchy

I’m back! Took a bit of break from getting sketchy for various reasons. But sure had fun tonight. Here is my crow - did along with Matt

Hi Forum Friends. Here is my Raven (Crow) from Gettin’ Sketchy. I did start mine before the lesson started because I knew I would need more time. It also gave me an opportunity to do a background more like the reference photo instead of totally white. Mine is 5x7 and was done on Canson XL Sand Grain - Dry Mixed Media paper. Color: grey sand.

Nice looking crow @robichon! I love how you always go extra time and make even a sketch look amazing. I might do mine tomorrow and post here. Hopefully more people post theirs as well!

Hi Sonia @Meme5

Thanks so much for always supporting me and my work. It’s important for all of us to get support from the others here. Looking forward to seeing your drawing whenever you finish it.

Who else is going to play with us?

Well I was looking for a Crow but the thread is actually a Raven. So here’s mine! I loved working on it! Dry media makes me smile :grin:

Hi Sonia @Meme5

I’m sure you know that I love this drawing. The bird is spot on and the background is the perfect finishing touch. So glad you shared this with all of us.

@robichon

Thank you so much, I appreciate your super kind words and support, it means a lot coming from you!

I think in my case, it really shows when I enjoy working on a drawing. Even @theresebriggs seem to have noticed some sort of smile on my raven :grin:.

Charcoal Raven finished today after getting some time to watch on YouTube!
Don’t like his tail. It’s too fat and claws were a challenge too but wanted to do it just the same and all cleaned up for tomorrow’s rooster!

Hi @theresebriggs

Well done and it doesn’t have to be perfect because after all it was a lesson from Gettin’ Sketchy. I too am looking forward to starting the rooster painting.
