Better late than never, right?
Actually, I figure 2026 is off to a good start for me. I finished this 5x7 charcoal drawing in just two hours this morning. I know the rest of you did it in a lot less time, but you know me. I’m going for less sketchy and more realism, and a quality level where I can use it for one of my county fair entries in August.
This is the first time I used charcoal pencils on PastelMat paper and I liked it. The other thing I’m doing lately is covering the entire background. It just feels more finished than leaving the plain paper for the background.
