Hello all,
Just thought I would drop in and see everyone’s progress. It is looking good! Still just a drawing here, a small drawing but will do it one day.
If I remember I’ll check in next week to see everyone’s progress!

A drawing is more than I have. Always wanted to catch up and then got stuck with pen and ink. Better luck next time!
Every dog here looks so good, can’t wait to try myself
Here’s where my snow dog is currently. I’m pretty much finishing it before tomorrow night’s lesson, except for the shadow in the snow. I really don’t want to mess that up. My dog is obviously darker than the reference. It just happened that way.
All the other postings look great.
Brenda
Brenda,
your snow dog is wonderful, and dark is nice, it will contrast nicely with the blue shadow.
The German Shephard that we had in Guatemala was dark like yours. Mine is still just the drawing, so light it would not be able to be seen, but will finish it someday, or this is the plan.
Teri
Thank you so much, Teri. I was ready to not finish it, and then I began to feel better, and I’ve been painting like a crazed person.
The lessons will be there when you’re ready to complete your snow dog.
Brenda
You’re doing wonderful @Brenda. It is so exciting to see all the live lesson’s posts. wish I had followed along.
I can’t wait to see it all done.
Brenda - this is looking great. Looking forward to seeing you in the Live Lesson chat this week.

Thanks, Terri. I’m looking forward to a normal Wednesday night! See you then.

Ta daaa! I really enjoyed this as Matt’s attention to detail is very different to my approach. I learned lots and am going to try to do a German Shepherd portrait using these techniques.
Absolutely love it! Great job!!
Congratulations on a wonderful painting. I hope to finish mine in the next day or two.

So happy to have finished my Snow Dog. Just as a reminder mine is 11 x 17 which meant I had more to paint, but it was easier to capture the details that way.

Snow dog beautiful.
Finally finished! I’m pleased, although I considered not even finishing it at one point. Today, I’m glad I did.
Nicely done. Congratulations for sticking with it.

Great work everyone! I have two more lessons to go. I’m looking forward to finishing up and making a start on something new.
Are you planning to do the scratchboard lessons? I’m not planning to as of now. I have a lot I can work on. I’ll watch though. It’s an intriguing method!
Brenda
Not planning to do it as of now. I don’t have the materials and scratchboard that I saw online looks quite expensive. I like the reference photo, I love bugs of all sorts. Whenever the video is available I’ll watch though.
My plans in no particular order:
I have a print out of the Blue Jay ready to go - I want to try the transfer method as I’ve never done it before
I love the getting sketchy pepper and onion, I want to spend some time at this
There’s so much and so little time. Work has been hectic this week and I served jury duty last week and it all left me exhausted. But this weekend we have a holiday, Imbolc, the start of spring. So I have a 3 day weekend to do chores lol.
Hi Brenda-
Yup I’m definitely going to do scratchboard project and so excited to learn something I’ve never done before. Supplies being delivered Saturday.
