This is what I have so far…can’t wait to see class on Wed to see what I need to change! Lots of erasing with this one so far! ![]()
looks great. I need to catch up. I just watched last week because was too tired to draw
Wow you did a really super job on that .
Looks like you are off to a go start. don’t worry about the erasing. I its all part of it.
Hello Therese,
You are off to a good start. i am behind but glad that we have this next week to work on it slowly. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s initial drawing of the trumpet.

Artsy, I think what Matt was saying in the trumpet drawing was totally awesome .it really benefitted me as well . Thank your for asking the questions you did . I have learned to just explore like he said and let the outcome be the outcome . I have also gotten a lot of great advice from others on here as well.
One of my favorite quotes is this “ Creativity is intelligence having fun”. - Albert Einstein
And my other favorite is To practice any art no matter how well or badly ,is a way to make your soul grow .So do it , — Kurt Vonnegut
You are doing great with this one. Thanks for sharing your progress.
Terri
@TLP Here is my finished trumpet per your request. Sorry I didn’t post here before. It scrolled down on the feed, and I forgot someone started it already.
Ashley has a crazy ability to select reference photos that look so complicated that I never would have picked them myself. That’s the case with this trumpet. It’s so important to keep my membership here. It pushes me outside of my comfort zone and allows me to continue to grow my skills.
That being said, I decided to use the Trumpet reference, but decided to do it in INK instead of CHARCOAL. Just so you know why - I draw/paint for possible County fair entries. I have already completed my graphite/charcoal entries, so I needed to switch to a different media. Now all my Ink entries are complete also.

PS - I have deleted the previous places this was posted.
Terri,
this is fantastic. definitely a blue ribbon ( is that the first place one).
I agree that the membership here is something that I would not want to end. I have learned so much. And this may be strange but all of the Monday’s with Matt reviewing is really helpful too.
I started with acrylics and am looking forward to this next class series. I have so far to go but it is a rewarding journey.
thanks for doing this for me, reposting it.

Ink is a great medium for this Teri! Hope your fair entries do great this year again!
Love your willingness to share with us and enjoy your presence too!
Great gal that you are!
Therese
Terri @robichon, I have enjoyed your art over the last few years and every medium that you choose is professionally done. Every time I think you can not impress me anymore than you already have, then you post art like this trumpet and I say to myself how wrong I am.
Thank you for all that you do for this community.
Jim
Hi Therese @theresebriggs
I so appreciate you taking the time to comment and your kind words. It means a lot to me.

WOW Jim @1kidneyJD
Your words mean so much to me. While I try to do several pieces of art every year, quality always is more important to me than quantity. Pretty much everything I do takes longer than anticipated, but I always give it as much time as it needs. While I like the fair ribbons, I always strive to improve my entries every year from what I submitted the last year. Your comments show that the effort has been worth it. Thanks!!! The encouragement is helpful.
