Great job on perspective - something I really struggle with. I love the different textures you’ve got as well. Only thing I can see that would improve the drawing are the buildings in the background - they seem to be just a tad out of whack with the bridge.
I think the drawing was using a super wide angle/near fisheye lens reference which makes the verticals tilt outward on either side, it is difficult to reproduce that distortion or correct/convert to rectilinear without a Lightroom or Photoshop lens correction step.
Nice Jelly fish finleyj! Loved that project too!
Hi Trevor @trevowen
I really like this portrait with a couple on a bench. I assume this was drawn on a toned paper. What was the type/brand of paper and the size of your drawing?
Terri Robichon
Hi Terri ! , glad you like it , actually it’s mainly HB /#2 pencil on A4 office scrap paper - if you look carefully you might see the printout showing through lol. Low light when I took the photo with my phone probably makes the paper look toned , I forgot to adjust the light balance before posting , but I don’t like editing images in case it misrepresents the artwork
Hi Trevor - Editing to make art look more like the actual and to correct changes that happened during the photography process is always okay.
Keep posting. I like your work.
Terri Robichon
@trevowen Beautiful piece!
I agree with @robichon, editing your picture shows your art for what it truly is. I also thought it was toned paper. Please keep posting!

apropos of nothing in particular other than Christmas dinner and having stuffed myself , here’s a drawing I did a couple of years ago of Brit fast food (nice big serving of proper chips (fries !))
@trevowen, this is lovely as always!
Sonia
@Meme5 thank you x Its from a the ‘chip shop’ near to where I work , they had some interesting pics on their website , idk the photographer though
I couldn’t help myself and had to see the more truer version of your wonderful drawings. I hope you don’t mind! ![]()
These adjustments do make it easier to see how wonderful the drawings are.

Very nice tootbrush, Elina! Great perspective and so realistic, I like especially the bristles! Well done. I saw somewhere you are drawing everyday, so well done for that as well! Keep going ![]()
It makes me feel I wanna try to draw this toothbrush soon ![]()
Hello @Elina,
That was a good getting sketchy lesson, your toothbrush drawing is great, and so is your jumping spider. I hope to see more of your work here!
Sonia Alonzo
Hey I’m flattered and glad you liked them enough to do this !
Hi , like this a lot , great depth perspective on the legs particularly !
