Hi Elina -

You and your parrots are a pure delight. Since you said you just jumped into the watercolor pencils, I thought I’d share a tip:

Whenever using a media involving water, especially watercolors and watercolor pencils, it is advisable to tape down all sides of your paper completely (edge to edge). Many papers will ripple when using water and taping down the paper will make your life much easier. I couldn’t tell from your photo if it was taped down or not. Hope this is helpful.

You should be very proud of your beautiful art work, the way you have created such believable feathers is amazing, the colours are stunning too. very well done, Patricia

@patricia  thank you very much, it is so easy to be critical instead of being proud…. But isn’t it possible to be proud even there is some critic:thinking:… I’ll train this

@Meme5 Thank youšŸ™šŸ¼There was no plan for this, people around ask for this birds…
My boyfriend ask for the first parrot (it is his power animal) and the stork is for a little boy. It is his security animal, his mother ask me to draw it…. It is an orderā˜ŗļøā€¦I am really grateful, to receive this.

I gave him a second layer of colors. Now it is finished.
It was fun to play with the watercolors even without knowing anything about the handling… I am looking forward to join a watercolor course or classā˜ŗļø

@robichon thanks for your advice to fix the paper when using watercolors!
It helps so much!.. At first I forgot to fix it… And your advice came up… OK, the first wrinkles were in, but… Every picture got it’s own Charme and points to recognise and learnšŸ˜…
Here the teeth are a bit to yellow …
As well it is such a training to take foto which real looks like the original one…

Actually I am so inspired I would learn many techniques and learn to handle many materials on one day…

The background is colored with watercolor cakes from artist and the Linx first drawn with Derwent watercolor graphite and filled with Derwent watercolor and inktense and a cheap watercolerset from Aldi. The paper is Din A3 100% cotton 3 times primed 390g/m2 (wonderfully present of a friendā¤ļøl

Great watercolor control, I enjoy looking at your bleeding pears, they have a heirloom look, kind of old fashion air to them. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
