Live Class Pee Wee the Peacock Colored Pencils on Black Paper

Hello everyone,

I have started my representation of the peacock, I did the contour lines in graphite and have finished the part that Matt started.

first everyone’s looks really nice. Terri, I think yours was turning out just fine, but I also know you are quite business.

HarleysMon, Lisa,

It is nice to put a name to your handle. I have enjoyed watching you in the chat. Terri with 2r’s speaks (types-chats) on my behalf. the chat goes to fast and I get confused trying to type and keep up with it. Too much stimulation.

Since we are both Terri/Teri I use the name Artsycrochet. Many call me Artsy.

I cant post since my computer and phone are acting up, but if I figure out how to post my peacock I will.

I am using Strathmore multi media coal black paper in 6 x 8 and Faber-Castell Polychrmo colored pencil hoping to use mine as a card.

I’ll check back after this weeks live lesson. Have a great week!

Thanks, Terri! I’ve been quite busy, traveling a bit, and trying to get over the RSV I brought home with me! Ugh!

Hello Sonia,

If I remember correctly you made a list of the colors that we are using for the peacock.

Would you be so kind to post it here or in the comments below the live lesson?

I really appreciate it.

Hi, Artsy! I didn’t realize you were Teri with one r, thanks for the clarification. It’s a pleasure to “meet” you. I look forward to seeing your peacock- I’m learning so much watching Matt and seeing everyone’s versions. Be well, Lisa.

Thanks, Teri. I’m enjoying this series!

We have had some wind here, but farther north in the panhandle and north Texas, they had crazy winds and blowing sand with near zero visibility. It was wretched!!! I have family in Amarillo. They were referring to this storm as a land hurricane. There was lots of damage and so many wrecks on the roadways. Thanks for asking. Sorry to hear you’re still dealing with recovery from Helene.

I spent several hours on this yesterday and here is what it is looking like now. Yes, I’m working way ahead of the Live Lesson, but it has just kind of sucked me in and I can’t seem to leave it alone.

Anyway, instead of colored pencils I’m using pastel (Rembrandt soft pastels because of the vibrant colors and a couple kinds of pastel pencils). This is not my favorite media, but I need the practice.

My drawing is 8x10 on dark gray Pastelmat paper (this brand doesn’t come in black).

Let me say, the body of the bird has been far more difficult for me than the head. I’ve decided to just leave it alone where it is right now and move on to the background.

Looks great, Terri. I’m about that far, also, the golden feathers are challenging! Having fun, though.

Having fun with this! The 90% French grey really helped. I’m going to sit and wait for class now, no more skipping ahead.

Pee Wee is looking great @HarleysMom!
I am already making a mess. Hopefully I will fix it when the third recorded class is posted. The eye is not black as it should. I’m afraid i will have to use actual black at some point. Attached is s pic of my little progress.

Hi Sonia

You’re doing fine, but I agree that the eye needs some real black. So glad you shared.
