Well, it’s not pretty - but I am happy with it. It’s the first time I’ve used gouache. It’s the last assignment in the watercolour workshop.
Thanks for that info!
On to new adventures - this time Acrylics. I used my thinnest rigger brush to try to get those letters in, but I had to give up on it.
Hi @siffermus
You did well with this. Little lettering is always difficult, but it doesn’t have to be totally precise.

More erasable Crayola that my daughter threw out from her childhood belongings - wanted to see if the colours would mix a little - as a medium I’m sure it would be better on better paper but I hate to waste !
I made a drawing of a man and his dog with graphite and white charcoal on Strathmore toned tan paper. I normally don’t draw with this medium and I also don’t draw people. But sometimes you have to create outside your comfortzone. This medium came much more natural to me than watercolor where I often work with. I have to do this more often!

It’s common how some “accidents” fit right into the scheme of things!
Looking well done trevowen!

I love it Bearinthegarden!
Pastelmat worked great it appears! Good job!

Well siffermus I think its well done for first time gouache!
I would only suggest to take some time and go back around tree trunks and place where more detail was left out.
But other than that i like it very much!

Veronica Lake - Conte Pierre Noir and bit of white conte on card (old pizza box) , not sure about the white - didn’t add much
her dress had sparkles in it so may add some
This isn’t my last drawing, but this is the drawing I am the most proud of so far. I framed it and it is in my livingroom. If you’re interested, you can watch how I did this here: https://youtu.be/lP5exyfdH70
After doing the Urban Sketch tutorial I tried one on my own. Got the photo from Pixabay. I’m finding this ‘sketching’ style very freeing.
yes, I like there classes! And I like other classes as well. I was looking for special classes for derwent inktense pencils and found this at choclate and painting. It is interessting how different she handles the watercolour medium and the intense oft colours.
The following for example is not 100% like in the class..
It is a small paper (18x12,5cm) 300gr Baohong watercolour paper and Faber Castel Alfred Dürer Pencils
Wow, this is really realistic work!
Hi Elina,
This is a very nice drawing! I like the bird, but I like the background as well! Well done as well for being so consistent, producing lots of beautiful art :).
I see you are mentioning Baohong watercolor paper. Can I ask how do you like it? I don’t know if you have ever used Arches paper, but if yes, what would be the difference for you if you would want to compare them?
Lucy
Hello everybody,
After a few busy weeks of travelling and moving, I have some time to post little drawings I was able to manage.
I have only watercolor paints with me, so that’s what I am focusing on (well, and I bought some pen and ink as I couldn’t hold myself
).
Here are my little drawings of cartoon, usually called as “fanart”, even thou I can’t say I am a real fan, as I don’t really know the tale. ![]()
Both drawings were created in a little Hahnemuhle notebook, 5.8x4.1 inches. It was fun to create these little drawings and play with watercolors.
Speaking of little drawings, I created something a little bigger as well. Painting on Arches cold press paper, following a free tutorial of Anna Mason (after I read about her from one of the post from Terri here on the forum - thanks Terri
), I created this pear.
I am planning to continue with some classes/lessons from TVI that focus on watercolor and pen and ink.
Lucy
@Lucy beautiful picture the faart and the pear as well.
@Lucy thank you for your Kind words🥰
I am really new with boahong and arche paper, so it is hard for me to compare them I at first tried the colouring and wet stuff with cheap paper and realised how benifical it is to use high-quality materials…pencils, colours and paper.
Ay, with Lyra Rembrandt Policolor Pencils
Hi @Appelmoes
I pretty much love all of your artwork. So glad that you continue to share here.
