I know it has been awhile since I last posted but I recently visited Oahu in Hawaii for the first time and thought I share some of the drawings I did. I have worked on Mickey Lamp since coming back, however, the other needs more work. Both are done at Disney’s Aulani.

Oil pastel on gouache underpainting with colored pencil for the windmill blade details. From a reference photo someone sent me from their trip to the Netherlands. Feedback welcome. Thank you.

Hi Twilah @Bearinthegarden This is a beautiful oil pastel painting. Logical how you used other media to create the underpainting and blade details. Love the clean brilliant colors and the composition with the windmill focal point. Good range of values clearly showing shape of buildings and the source of the light. Well done with a difficult media.

Hi Forum friends,

I’ve just finished this 8x10 acrylic painting of Egrets. It is on Arches 300# hot press watercolor paper. I based this painting on a photo I took myself at a Rookery in Fergus Falls, Minnesota (about 2-hour drive from where I live).

Hi @chellesky Nice to see you posting your own artwork on the topic of “Most Recent Drawing or Painting”. When my time is limited, it is the one place I always go to check out what’s happening.

I love it when people take what they have learned an apply it to personal photos. Your dog looks so fluffy and friendly.
