Here’s an apple I worked on today. Polychromos and prismacolor pencils on Legion Rising Museum Mount Board, 2-ply. It is centered on 10x10 inches.
Terri @robichon
How can you possibly make a watercolor painting so realistic?! I can’t even… ![]()
Excellent mesmerizing painting cupcake!! Talk about masterpiece work
Sonia Alonzo
@Meme5 wow, what a wonderful Apple
!
And the sketch is quite inspiring to do this getting sketchy!
A gettin’ sketchy graphite lesson of Gears. I had it in my sketchbook for weeks and did a few minutes here snd there. I finally finished it yesterday morning. It was quite challenging but did it free hand ![]()
@robichon Awesome, like always! Sweet cupcake!
@Meme5
thank you for your warm, kind words!
Hi Sonia @Meme5
That apple is wonderful. Looks better than what they sell in the store. I love seeing your artwork.
Terri
Hi Sonia.
Actually that cupcake is watercolor pencil. Pretty easy to control if you take the time to use a lot of layers.
But thanks so much for your continued support and praise. I greatly appreciate it.
Terri
Hi Sonia @Meme5
I don’t remember the gear lesson, but I really like it. I have all my graphite drawings done for this years fair, so I’ll have to remember to do it this fall.
Terri
Wow - I have no words - this is so beautiful. Unfortunately I can’t get that type of paper where I live. I would sure like to try it out.
Thank you for your kind comment!
Amy colored pencil drawing can be done on Bristol vellum or legion cotton paper. Really any paper that can take a lot of layers. I just learned to use that paper a while back and it’s what I had already cut.

@robichon which Faber Castel did you use Gold Faber or Alfred Dürer?
Hi @Elina - The Faber-Castell, Albrecht Durer is what my watercolor pencils are.
Terri
@robichon I only have some Faber Castel Gold and I am very Interested in the Alfred Dürer ones….on my list, like the electric erasure☺️
But with or without them, like Sonia wrote, it is awesome how you handle the water Color! So, realistic and intense!
I hope your health and your sisters topics are fine now🙌🏻
Thanks for your kind words @Elina. They are much appreciated.
Terri
For me is it so strongly different if I draw with graphite or with colors… As if I am more vulnerable with my colored pictures.
Hi Elina -
This is quite nice. Thanks for sharing it here.

This is my seagull, which Matt kindly critiqued on MM. This is the newly completed version which resulted from what he recommended. I may be taking a break from colored pencils for a bit! The tooth on this Pastel paper from Strathmore challenged me quite well. I will be working on vellum next time. I did finish the wonky cat on fine grit sandpaper, but now that I know what I know, that’s not complete. Not sure if I’ll change it much, I like the grittiness of it. I do see the improvement in this piece for sure. Going forward I am going to push my values farther and make sure the work is truly done. Onward!
I have yet to watch the MM of your drawing, however I can tell you that I like it very much!!
Love the seagull too resting on the rocks.
Very inspiring. Keep ‘em coming!
