Where do you live & what's happening there

@Elina

I’m so sorry your Charly boy passed. Pets are family for sure. Sending a hug for you.

Oh god - I am so sorry for your loss. I lost one of my cats very recently. I can really empathise with you. It’s so difficult. You can paint a portrait when you are able to - emotionally.

So - entering week 6 of not being able to draw due to my hand injury. Still seeing a physiotherapist twice a week for treatment. I have been able to do a bit of waterclolour though. Mind you - I am a beginner at watercolour. Really loving it.

OK - feel rather sheepish here…. haven’t been doing any art work since around June - decided to focus more on learning about fishing this summer - used to fish lots when younger. Well, this is first response back here since then! Looked through a few posts - and found your sharing of your accomplishments and your losses during this summer. Wish the best for you.

Hi @jjames25

Nice to see you back on the forum. I haven’t been drawing or posting much either, but that should change before long.

My sister just gifted me this drawing cabinet. 15 drawers, size A1 - now I won’t run out of storage for paper and drawings. So nice!

Hi @siffermus

I have a couple of metal “flat filing cabinets” that I purchased when I had my commercial interior design business. Since retiring I took them home. They fit under a couple of folding tables and are very useful.

Hi Sonia @Meme5

Wonderful photo just begging to be a piece of art. Complementary colors of blue and orange is always a winning combination. Horizon low in the photo makes everything above it the focal point and those clouds are indeed interesting making this composition better than nice. It’s very strong. And if we look at the rule of thirds, I bet that sun would be in the vicinity of one of those intersections.

Just something to think about.

Terri @robichon, I might just give it s try in one of this days…. Maybe pastels or even oil pastels…especially after that description made it look so interesting

Hi Sonia.

Oil pastels would be the perfect media for this.

Hi Elina -

The photos are nice, and can also be inspiration for a future drawing. Hoping you are pain free very soon.

What should a girl do when she gets to the post office on a wet and dreary day, ten minutes before they open?

I grabbed my cell phone and started taking photos. Turns out I will probably use this one for the local county fair for next year in the category of . . . Professional Photography - Cell Phone Photographs.

You can’t go wrong with complementary colors this vibrant and shiny. A happy way to start my day.

Hi Patricia @sterlingsiam

So nice to see you back again and I appreciate your thoughtful words. Unfortunately my heart is not done breaking yet. I have an appointment at the vet to say goodbye to Duke , my German Shepherd, this Wednesday. It’s been a tough year for us.
