Most Recent Drawing or Painting

Hi Jim, your Pee Wee does looks great! I love colors and need to practice my black/White skills. Did you see the thread for Pee Wee, where many members did post their results? Maybe you would like to see.

Enjoy the process, Buddy

Thank you Buddy @Buddy I have seen in progress and finished work of this peacock. I do enjoy the art of color. I am of the lazy persuasion and colored pencils is just too much work. I will continue to learn more of the colored world, who knows I might even try painting.

Hi @chellesky

I want to clarify that I’m a member of the forum and TVI like you and everyone else here. Definitely not the forum host. Nobody holds that role here. Yes, I did start the topic of “Most Recent Drawing or Painting,” like you’ve started several topics of your own. It seems like I’m the host because I’ve been hanging around longer and responding more than the people who are currently active on the forum.

The reason I suggested you post on this topic is not to make it easier for me, but to give yourself better exposure and assure others can find your posts more easily. The reason so many people check in on this topic is that you can open this one topic and scroll thru the new stuff since your last visit and see what new activity there is from everyone.

Topics with only a few responses quickly scroll away.

Thanks for the kind words about my work. In my retirement years I have put a focus on improving my artwork using all the media and subjects. I don’t go for quantity but rather invest the time to create the best quality work I can while experimenting and trying new things. The time/practice has been paying off.

Please keep posting. I love your enthusiasm.

I would have guessed water color!
Very Nice!

Hi forum friends -

This is what I was working on the last couple of days. A 5x7 pastel landscape on Mi-Teintes - Touch paper.

I used five different brands of pastels, some sticks and some pencils, so I won’t bore you with the list of brands. The reference came from a watercolor tutorial that I watched recently from: Natalia and Dog who is a part of Artefacto School. (I did the image in pastels instead of watercolors).

Hi Jim @1kidneyJD

Your comment made me smile. I sure do like hearing from you more often these days.

That’s a lot of stuff to do in just one year Terri! That must be an awesome way to get good at everything (even the mediums you wouldn’t just choose normally).

I do that a lot too Jim.

Thank you very much @chellesky. I thought I would see what I could do with office supplies and it certainly was exiting to figure out.

Hi Lucas @MTBartist

The only media I used before joining The Virtual Instructor was graphite and watercolors. So thanks to Matt and the fair I keep learning a lot.

I appreciate your comments.
