I like the way the hills look dappled in the background and the way the path is split in the front. Overall, I really like this painting.

This one I actually did in 2021 I guess. I first painted the top one and decided to add more because it was too small for the wall where I first wanted it. So I just ad- libbed and added more to it!

I really like how you’ve used color here. And in both of your paintings you’ve done something I can’t put my finger on that is giving them a distinct quality that I really enjoy. I think it’s something you’ve done with texture in the landscapes that I like.

A coworker of mine retired today. Without her knowledge I had downloaded an image of her cat from her facebook. The cat sadly passed away last fall, and she was very sad for a long time. So I drew a portrait of her cat, and presented to her today, as a retirement present. She became so moved and happy that she started crying. She said I had captured the expression on his face and in his eyes perfectly.

I have started working with the Drawing bootcamp 2.0. I am working on this sand grain grey paper from Canson, and I am not xperiencing any issues with putting the coal over the graphite. Matt metions it alot in the videos as being a challenge, when mixing graphite and charcoal. I am not familiar with the grey strathmore paper that is being used in this serie. But, does the materials behave so differently because I am using sand grain paper for this?

Love this dog siffermus…the expression in the eyes is terrific and the mouth too! You’ve really caught the personality with this doggie! The hair is nice and smooth too! You are sharing so nicely here in the forum! Please keep it up! Think I’m spending more time outside working the property than drawing but I love the summer and outdoors! Did two pears so far for Mondays classes!

This is watermixable oil paint. I have had to start over several times, before I got to a result I am pleased with.

@siffermus ooooh Sys, this is so very thoughtful of you! It’s a Tom cat? Green eyes and redish fur are my favorite colors in cats because of the one I had asca toddler.
@siffermus Sys, that’s a very yummie apple! I know with other medias how very different they behave depending on the paper you use. Would you like to share your experience on Monday with Matt? I would be curious for the answer.

The dog is an Afghan Hound. They are perfect for long hair studies. Here is a pic showing just how “hairy” they are.
