Yes, the lakes do freeze over here in the winter and there are many community activities on the frozen lakes. Minnesota is known as the state with 10,000 lakes.
Regarding our local county fair, I have made a great big chart and I work on my entries for the next fair all year long. But I still find myself in a time crunch when I’m still a couple months before the fair.
Yes, I will post photos with my fair results, but that won’t be for at least two weeks. Thanks for the request to share my work.

I finished this portrait of Luna. My sister requested it. It is for a friend of hers, who has been diagnozed with a serious case of breast cancer - and her birthday is coming up on August 1st. My sister wants to make a big deal of the birthday as it may be her friends last birthday - so she sent me a photo of the friends puppy, and asked me to draw it as a present. I have never been more nervous. It was like I just forgot everything I knew about drawing. But I think it turned out okay in the end.

I painted this egg in water mixable oil colours. I had a really hard time with the shadows underneath the eggs.

I finally got around to finishing this bootcamp 2.0. I ran out of white coal, so instead I have use my Conte á Paris -Pierre Noire pencils on this.

These are gorgeous Terri, Just catching up on what folks have been posting lately! I get behind in the forum very often!
I like the way the chicks look so eager for Mama’s arrival (or Dad’s?) who knows usually in the bird species both parents work together in the feedings!

It needs some time to finish it… I am still wondering to paint a background with watercolors 
… hmm, honestly I will not try this combination ( colored pencil and watercolor) in this picture… but I will with an other one!

Hi forum friends - This was the last entry that I completed for this year’s local county fair. It is 8x10 using only watercolor pencils on 300# Arches hot press watercolor paper. It was painted/drawn using my own reference photo of a dilapidated barn just down the street from where I live. It took 5 days to complete.
