Very nice I love that, I would not have guessed ballpoint pen. thanks for posting. Ron
@robichon Thank you🙏 Would you recommend a special eraser?
Hi Elina -
There are a lot of options out there. I bought mine from Amazon in 2023 and like it a lot. It is currently available for $15.99.
The Brand is AFMAT. It is 5.7" long x 1.2"wide and is described as . . .
Electric Eraser, with 140 Eraser Refills, Electric Pencil Eraser Rechargeable for Artists
A good feature is that it has a built-in 600mAh Li-ion Battery. That means it has a battery (and a cord that can be used for recharging it).
More detail of what you get with this kit . . .
- Electric Eraser Kit with 2 Eraser Sizes: Our electric eraser includes 2 eraser holders to hold both φ2.3mm and φ5mm erasers. Use the bigger one to create thick highlights and the smaller one to erase tiny parts like hair. Ideal for artists and professionals. The electric eraser kit comes with 1 USB Cable, 40 big refills, 100 small refills and 1 brush.
Here is a picture of it and what is included in the kit.

@robichon Thank you very much! This helps!… I will look out for this!
Your cat eyes are getting more realistic with each sketch. I also love cat eyes, well eyes in general. I find it more difficult to draw them in colored pencils, I prefer graphite or pastel pencils/sticks.
I do love colored pencils for botanical subjects the most.
Like you, I like to see how each brand of colored pencils differs from one another.
It is always a joy to see your posts of your art!
Your cat and leopard’s eyes make me smile.

Those are very nice trees.
Nicely done! Thank you for posting. I am falling behind on the Gettin’ Sketchy, I better get to work

Here’s a flower I am getting close to finish. It’s on a 12x12 rising museum board with prismacolor and polychromos colored pencils, pencil colorless blender, and odorless solvent
Still have to add more color layers on the petals, add all the little dots. I think I got the free reference from Jennifer Morrison
Little progress on my lion
@Meme5 both are soooo beautiful
! Thank you for sharing the process!
@Meme5 thank you so much for your kind words!…you touched my heart
it is always joy to make somebody smile.
I am doing the leopard eye now with policromos, a bit scratching and more time.. on the same paper in my sketchbook (80gr per cm2) then the other one. Quite interesting!
I I always draw the outlines freehand to train eye-hand coordination.
Creating fur for me is more comfortable and familiar with graphite.
Those are both beautiful Sonia. I love plants and flowers, I’ve been drawing a lot lately with graphite, mainly things in Ball Class Jars. I’m going to try to add a copy of one to this message? Thanks for
posting. Ron
Trevor, good job I like that, it’s better that the one I did. I’ll attach mine if it’ll let me, it’s not very good. Thanks for posting. Ron
Hi Sonia
You create such beautiful artwork, and I notice it getting bigger which adds to the challenge.
Both the lion and flower are most impressive already.
Terri
Absolutely gorgeous, Sonia! I ordered some of the Mi-Tientes velvet paper! I’m intrigued!!!

I thank you for always being uplifting to all of us here, and always taking time to comment on our work. I have ventured and progressed in my confidence (even when fails happen) thanks to encouraging supportive people such as yourself and everyone here at the forum, and all the practice from the wonderful lessons at the TVI!!!
Like someone said “practice makes progress”
Have a blessed day my friend!

Thank you for your kind comment!
I got the canson velvet when I firs saw it introduced on instagram. What I like best about it is the availability of darker colors, especially the black. I will always love pastelmat, though. I can’t wait to hear what you think about it!

Thanks Sonia
I’m feeling better today than yesterday, and hearing your kind words is so appreciated. It’s hot here in Minnesota, and I’m finally out in the garden pulling weeds. Then my husband will till it and I’ll plant my big boy tomatoes. A must have for my BLT’s in August and September.
I guess I won’t be drawing today.

My take on the Gettin’ Sketchy’s lesson “Pills Thrills and bellyaches” as @trevowen called them. I used the grid to sketch the bottle and pills then continued within the allotted time plus a few minutes to add the hint of shadows i refuse to draw an ellipse without a grid at the very least!! it was fun!![]()
