Well done Sonia - but that’s no surprise.

Thank you so much. The super funny thing is that I went to Michaels to browse around for a paper pad and picked up some of the general’s layout pencils without knowing those were going to be used for gettin’ sketchy!
I was so happily using those pencils with this one!! :star_struck:
By the way, after posting I saw that my ellipse is not too elliptical haha.

Thank you again! I was also thinking it looks almost finished. I might refine some details and dark/highlighted areas before adding the main whiskers and call it completed.
Unless you or anybody have suggestions

Hi Sonia - sounds like a good plan regarding the Lion.

So funny about Michaels. And you and I are both way to critical of our own work.

nice Sonia , my Pills Thrills and Bellyaches comment is a music reference also - an album title from a 90s UK band

Here’s an update . . . Acrylic ladybug is done, and I’m still working on the watercolor pencil drawing of a tulip. Looks like I’m into red and green right now. I guess complimentary colors are always appealing.

Your ladybug is beautiful and realistic. Thank you for sharing all your masterpieces!

Your tulip is looking great as well. It reminds me I haven’t used my watercolor pencils in sooooo long. Very inspiring…

Wow!,

This is not the way I would choose to respond to everyones wonderful artwork but I am running really low on energy these days, not only physically but also memory.

I do know that I have enjoyed scrolling through and seeing everyone’s artwork. It is so inspiring.

Those of you who know me know how much I appreciate the artwork of others. I see many pieces of artwork that I think as Terri (with 2r’s) has suggest, to send in for a critique.

Matt always answers so many questions with encouragement and points out where we can improve.

I do apologize for not being able to respond to each of you personally as I would like to.

I will try to not take so long to check back. Thank you all for sharing your beautifully inspiring artwork with each of us here.

Still working on this parrot… it is so interesting to see how it grows into its body with every new layer.
I am thinking about the next step… stay into watercolor pencils or whether I start with colored pencils for the details

Do you have some idea’s?

Hi @Elina

This is looking good. In response to your question, many artists do the final detail layer with the watercolor pencils without activating them with water. But regular colored pencils is a viable option as well.

Trying out ink pens for the first time.

Hi @siffermus

Ink in all forms is my current most favorite media. I hope you love it at least half as much as I do. That eagle is quite regal.

Wonderful fur and a wild, focused facial expression!

Hi Sonia @Meme5

That lion is crazy wonderful. By the way, the nose turned out great with just the right amount of information.

Keep on drawing my friend.

Hi Terri! I totally agree with you. Siffermus did a great job on this. And your suggestion to let it “rest” and come back to you later is, to my view, the secret to putting the harsh self critique aside.
