Thank you for your kind words! I worked hard on her. I am happy the way it turned out.

I think you should be very proud of the way you are working on this piece. The face is amazing. Can’t wait to see the finished piece!
Sonia
Thank you all for your supportive and kind words. It’s given me the incentive to keep going but it might be a long wait for the finished product.

@snookypooky you have done an amazing job creating the texture of the skin. So detailed and realistic. I look forward to seeing the headdress in all its glory.
I too will do some smaller/simpler drawings after tackling one that requires more time and concentration. - Jeanine
Snail drawing with Lyra Polycor on 220gr 14,8x 21cm Lana Dessin220paper
It is a bit of a shame there a no more layers possible. (honestly I did not count them)… or I did not recognize how I could get more layers on it🤔
It was a hard job for me to create the background and I am really not happy with it… the snail I like.
Hi everyone. This is a work in progress, what do y’all think so far? I’m continuing the “me and cars’ series (I don’t look like the mannequin though). I find that drawing automobile parts helps demystify them in my mind, and then I feel less stressed about car repairs. My local mechanics are awesome about letting me take reference photos! This is based on a reference photo I took at a local transmission shop. It’s pastel on Pastelmat, titled, “The Flywheel”. Feedback welcome. Thank you!
I agree with you. The snail is nice. The background seems kind of pixelated.
OMG I continue the oil pastel course🙈the landscape… it seems to be not my favourite material… and I recognised I am not really trained in drawing landscapes.
Maybe I can motivate myself to draw some undefined patterns to get more free of the subject ![]()
I just found this post… the background blending is so well done, colors so complementary, details just shimmer, light source is lovely. Bravo on a wonderful piece of art!!
I also like this pencil sharpener!!!
Finished a Pink and Peach Peony. It’s centered on 16x16 rising museum board 100% cotton. With Prismacolor, Polychromos, Holbein, and lightfast colored pencils. ![]()
Will go back and clean up some details, especially after a tiny mosquito got squished on it since I took the picture in the backyard ![]()

That peony is gorgeous! I love the color of that paper, too.
Thank you! The paper is normal white, it looks bluish because I took the picture outside.

@Meme5 Sonia, this flower is unbelievable
! So beautiful! Wonderful artwork!
Hi Sonia @Meme5
That’s HUGE for a colored pencil drawing. It is so well done!!! I just want to keep looking at it.
Terri
Wow - this is so beautiful.
Hello Terri!
Thank you! I took a looooooong time to finish it. You know how slow colored pencil takes? Well triple that. I had a HUGE marred area on the edge of a petal that I had worked over many times. I don’t get to sit and work on a piece for extended periods of time so I would forget where I’d left off. Well if anyone ever experiences a badly marred area on a pencil drawing, I can totally tell you what to do to hide it! ![]()

Thank you @siffermus! I really like the outcome, the process was lengthy but worthwhile!
