I don’t know how many of you recognise this person, but this is my childhood graphite portrait of Jeremy Brett, a very well-known actor from the UK who played the role of Sherlock Holmes. There are something like these, although the characters are not drawn fully or showing their back;
This is something I drew just because I love cats’ flatten/airplane ears. In Japan, cats’ ears in this form are called “ika-mimi” meaning “squid ears”.

My latest drawing for my next exhibition in May titled “Happiness comes from cats”, which has something to do with a facebook post I saw some time ago.
It says:
“If you’re not happy single, you won’t be happy married. Happiness comes from cats, not relationships.”
On facebook, you can find tons of pages for crazy cat people and I found this post on one of such pages.
I laughed out loud when I read this post, and I believe most cats lovers did the same.

There is an NPO called Canopy Cat Rescue in the US who specializes in rescuing cats stuck in trees.
Recently I learned about them on facebook and was very impressed by the way they utilize their special knowledge and skills as Arborists to help cats in serious trouble.
One day I found this photo on their facebook page and had some bittersweet feelings.
Most cats who they help are happy being rescued, but some cats do not understand that the rescuers are good…
And I am going to do a lot more figure drawings later this year because I need to prepare some illustrations of the characters for a novel I’ve been writing for the recent few years. Which, actually, I am very excited about and looking forward to!
